The eBook entitled “An Inland Voyage” is a travelogue written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The travelogue is about the author's canoe trip from France to Belgium in 1876.
“An Inland Voyage” is one of the first literary pieces about outdoor adventures. Robert Louise Stevenson intended to earn enough money to marry the woman he loves without any support from his parents.
As a result, he wrote a travelogue to provide him the much needed finances he needs to obtain this objective. “An Inland Voyage” also includes his dealings with his companion, Sir Walter Grindlay Simpson which he met in Oise River and accompanied him all the way to Belgium.
Each of their canoes have sails which are similar in appearance to a modern day kayak. “An Inland Voyage” captured the innocence of Europe during those times which eventually made outdoor leisure a popular past time, particularly when his written work became famous.
